The UK government has introduced the logo and livery for GBR, representing a key stride in its policy to take the railways back into state hands.
The new livery showcases a Union Flag-inspired colour scheme to reflect the Union Flag and will be used on locomotives, at railway stations, and across its website and app.
Significantly, the emblem is the distinctive double-arrow logo historically used by the national rail network and first introduced in the 1960s for the former state operator.
The introduction of the design, which was designed in-house, is scheduled to happen over time.
Commuters are set to start seeing the freshly-liveried trains across the network from spring next year.
Throughout December, the design will be showcased at key railway stations, including London Bridge.
The legislation, which will pave the way the establishment of Great British Railways, is currently progressing through the House of Commons.
The government has stated it is bringing back into public ownership the railways so the service is "owned by the people, working for the passengers, not for private shareholders."
Great British Railways will unify the running of passenger trains and tracks and signals under a unified structure.
The government has claimed it will combine seventeen separate entities and "eliminate the notorious red tape and lack of accountability that has long affected the railways."
The introduction of GBR will also involve a comprehensive app, which will enable passengers to see train times and purchase journeys absent surcharges.
Passengers with disabilities users will also be able to use the app to book assistance.
Several operators had previously been taken into public control under the previous administration, such as TPE.
There are currently seven train operators already in public hands, representing about a one-third of passenger trips.
In the past year, South Western Railway have been brought into public ownership, with more expected to follow in 2026.
"The new design is not simply a paint job," said the Transport Secretary. It represents "a fresh start, casting off the problems of the past and dedicated solely on offering a reliable service for the public."
Industry figures have acknowledged the government's commitment to enhancing the passenger experience.
"The industry will continue to collaborate with relevant bodies to support a successful handover to GBR," a senior figure said.
