Barcelona Ready for Inaugural Match at Renovated Camp Nou this Saturday

Barcelona have announced their first game will take place at the still-under-construction Camp Nou on Saturday. Athletic Bilbao will visit the Basque side in domestic competition two and a half years following their departure for construction to commence.

“Returning home was our dream. Finally, it’s happening. We are back at Spotify Camp Nou.”

Not all seats will be available with 45,401 fans will be allowed to watch as per the current authorization. After final construction, the Camp Nou is due to hold over 104,000 attendees, up from the previous 99,000. The club said finished work included an updated entryway for the team and new dressing rooms.

Preparatory Events

Barcelona held a public practice on the home pitch in early November. Officials stated approval is being pursued from Uefa for their upcoming Champions League fixture against Eintracht Frankfurt next month at the stadium. Previous fixtures took place in the temporary ground.
