"Adequate time has gone by that I can at last put my grief into words," posted Elwes, adding that his introductory moment with Reiner created an instant bond. "As we began sharing more moments together I understood this was someone I wanted in my life."
The actor shared behind-the-scenes footage from the film, remarking that he doesn't recollect "one day without laughter".
"The film is about devotion, fidelity and selflessness. Things that Rob cherished deeply. This is one of the many reasons he was the perfect person to direct it," Elwes expressed.
He additionally honored Michele Reiner, noting: "Claiming that they were a formidable pair would be an understatement. My heart still hurts every time I think of you." He finished with a line from *The Princess Bride*: "Sure, death cannot stop true love but existence is agony without you."
In a distinct essay, acclaimed director Martin Scorsese shared memories of Reiner, whom he initially encountered in the 1970s.
"Immediately, I loved being with Rob. We had a instant connection for each other. He was very funny and sometimes acutely humorous, but he was never the kind of guy who would dominate the room," Scorsese shared.
